The Colonialist Nominated for "Best Alternative Media Outlet" by U.S. News
UPDATE: Thank you! You have gotten us to 4th Place! KEEP VOTING!
The Colonialist is one of nine alternative news sources in a new poll on the US News and World Report website.
Our biggest competition includes:
Wesleying (Wesleyan)
A blog that includes 36 contributers, 1/5 of the entire student population at Wesleyan. I guess that’s what happens when it’s too dangerous to walk a block outside of your campus.
Michigan OTR (Michigan)
This blog uses the structure and institution of the campus blog network “On the Record.” It also seems like they only write about murder and Mitt Romney. I’ll admit I’ve only read three posts.
The Bwog (Columbia)
This pun on words (get it) is made by the student newspaper at Columbia, The Blue and White. It sounds intimidating until you see that they have a post titled “Updates in the coffeeshop world.” But so you know, sales are good.
This is your call to arms, Colonialist readers. Vote for us in the face of these less deserving behemoth institutions.
VOTE FOR US HERE!
It also seems like US News is upset with the current leader Wesleyan for using secret underground torrent warez proxies to vote multiple times. We would like to offer our official support for the elimination of Wesleyan from the competition. As a former resident of Connecticut, I’d like to point out that everybody knows that they are no Yale.
George Washington University… VOTE FOR US HERE!
Oh God, Please.
Oh Jesus we need this. We need this so much.
We’re so lonely.
